Time For The Traveling Art Doll Project with ADO

This year I'm going to be a part of the Traveling Art Doll Project with Art Dolls Only. It's kind of a round robin where each person works on the other team members dolls. There is also a journal that travels with the doll and each artist that works on the doll, journals about it. So when the event is over each participant has a lovely doll that has been created by several amazing artists.

The team I'm working with is listed below. I'm totally excited to be working with such talented artists. Click on their names to visit their sites.

The American Pies (United States)
Lisa Johnson
Helen Fern
Jesi Ferguson
Jan Paula Brinkman
Sandy Nowell

If you'd like to keep up with what's happening on the TDA project you can check it out at the Traveling Art Doll 2011 Blog
I hope you'll follow along as our dolls travel the US.  Now off to start my doll for the adventure!

Welcome Wise Woman #1 of 2011

There's a new Wise Woman on my work bench. I'm not sure what her name is or much about her yet. She's been rather quiet. She spends a lot of time whispering to Poe, my raven muse that sits on my book case. I think they might be planning something, but I'm not sure.

WIP #W1-2011
She's not dressed yet, but I don't think modesty is a problem for her. She muttered something under her breath about "take a good look." But I'm not sure if I heard her right.

She seems a bit feisty if I do say so myself. She wasn't supposed to be a full body doll, but she pitched a fit ( southern girls know what I mean ) until I promised to finish her out.

Now she's waiting to have her "spray tan" finished and get some clothes on over those wrinkles. LOL

I have to let her wander through the fabric and pick out some clothes. I'm sure if I did it it wouldn't be the right one. She seems rather outspoken and opinionated. I like that in her. LOL I think perhaps she will talk a bit more now that I kept my promise of a full body so that she can wander around the studio.

She looks a bit intimidating they way she stands, but when I look into her eyes I think she may have a real heart of gold. Tell me what you think.

I'll keep you posted on our progress. Tomorrow we start on her tan and doing something about that lack of hair! LOL

Thanks for stopping in. I hope you check back soon for an update.

Sunday Sketches

I've been a bit slow in posting this week. Things are moving along in the studio. I just haven't taken any photos. **bad Jes**   But I am here with Sunday Sketches again. Just a couple of things I have in mind for the next week or so. I'd love to hear what you think.

Hopefully I'll have some actual dolls in progress for you tomorrow.

Sorry for the change in background ... again....

For those of you who check in regularly, I would like to apologize for the revolving door of backgrounds you have seen here lately. Really I'm not as indecisive as it seems.  LOL

When I find a background/ template I like, something manages to go wrong with it and I find that my blog looks like it was designed by monkeys.  (No offense to the flying monkeys - you know I'll always love ya!)

So it's time to take things into my own hands and make my own background/layout. That way if it goes wrong there will be no one to blame but me. (and Mac of course )

So my project for tonight and tomorrow is to make my blog truly my home and decorate it!

This could be an adventure, so stick around. :) I'll keep you posted.

Sunday Sketches

All week long I doodle in my sketch book and no one ever sees them but me. So today I want to start something new, Sketchpad Sunday.  Each Sunday I'll add the new things from my sketchbook so that you get a glimpse into where my mind goes as it wanders through the day.

I'm not a great sketch artist, but I enjoy it and it helps me keep ideas fresh in my mind. There could be doodles, doll ideas, notes to my self and any number of odd things. One of which may be Mac's signature from time to time. LOL He enjoys helping me sketch.

So here goes. This is my sketch book from today.

Tomorrow I'll show you the beginnings of something new.
Until then enjoy what's left of the weekend!
